about Me

I believe connecting people together through sharing real-life stories and experiences can change the world. That's why I'm passionate about communications.

I am inspired by people, their ideas, and their stories of struggles & success. I love developing information bridges that connect people in ever-changing ways. I am a communications professional creating and implementing approaches to capture attention using creative digital strategy, informed graphic/user design, and cross-discipline collaboration. My projects represent a balance of critical client needs with sound, performance-tested solutions.

I believe that engaging media is critical in our world today. My approach to print and digital design connects people's imagination with critical information and is the only way to stand out in the cluttered landscape of communications today. I excel at capturing and incorporating stunning photography into the design landscape of message and help connect the real vision of who my clients are with their audience. I have a passion to produce authentic storytelling coupled with memorable images and visual cues that connect and make an impact.

Creating effective communication strategies cannot happen without the support of a motivated team. I seek out opportunities to work with others (both professionally and through volunteering) to accomplish big ideas.

I also love my family, my dogs, camping & nature.... and cold pizza.

highlights of experience

Summer 2018

Developed partnership: City of Richardson

Began trade partnership with City of Richardson Parks and Recreation Department. Volunteer photographers cover as a photojournalist 18 Richardson Parks event each year. In trade for the photo work, FUMCR receives over $8,000 of sponsorship marketing across 6 city-sponsored events..

600 - 3,500

social media audience growth

Social media accounts include Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and YouTube. Growth has been achieved by creation of customized social content aimed at 3 goals: celebrating our community, inspiring our online audience, and informing our audience leveraging our local expertise.

fall 2018

created targeted community outreach ads

FUMCR launched a new marketing plan in Fall 2018 concentrating on reaching and growing our immediate community. I develop strategies for specific advertising placements, and create the design and specific content for each piece. We have established relationships with eight “hyper-local” publications.

6-26 people

grew volunteer base for communications

There are many creative and artistic people looking for ways to explore and engage in the life of the church. Opportunities for lay volunteers to participate in the creative storytelling of the church can be a vital place for spiritual growth and maturity.  I strategically find new ways to invite volunteers into ministry and contribute to the creative spirit of the local church.

FALL 2010

Created FOCUS Photography Ministry

Lead the FOCUS Photography Ministry currently comprised of 15 volunteer photographers charged with capturing “ministry moments” throughout the entire program calendar of FUMCR.  These images are displayed throughout the church campus including 6 digital walls, 30 high-profile wall displays, used in church publications in place of stock photography, and displayed online at  Ministry group meets monthly.

144 Sr Adults

Developed “Learning Your Smartphone Class”

Class created as an outreach ministry to Senior Adult community within the FUMCR community. Class is attended in two sessions, one for Apple devices and one for Android devices. This class is part of a larger vision for providing intergenerational ministry opportunities between senior adults and younger adults not only within the walls of FUMCR, but to reach outside our walls in the community with future classes.
